Solo Female Travel: Female Safety in Goa, India

After the tragic passing of Danielle in Goa, India recently, the place where I am now and that I love, I feel that it is important to talk about female safety for solo  travel. Specifically, I want to shed light on the topic when travelling in India and in all places in the world.  Danielle, just like myself and many other females in India, was just looking to travel the world, have experiences she would not have at home and to learn about new cultures.

The Tree Tops of Kuala Lumpur

High in the tree tops, I walked along the rope bridge being at one with nature. Through the gaps in the trees I could hear the birds tweeting, see the greenery of the leaves against the bright blue sky and the tops of skyscrapers. I’m in KL Forest Eco Park in the Heart of Kuala Lumpur in 9.3 hectares of forest where the rope walkways stretch between the trees.

Rice Terraces of Batad – Self Guided

Carved out of the hillside by the Ifugao people, it is absolutely amazing to think how such a spectacular place was made from the most basic tools. I’m at the Rice Terraces of Batad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and I am doing this self guided tour.

 

Without a guide, we made this trip solo, a hard task to do with no signposts and local people less than willing to help (unless of course you hire them as a guide). However, we made it and so can you as I have created directions for you as a gift in ‘Batad – Self guided’ which can be found at the end of this post.
