ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER - (Center, CO)
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Our client is a well-established, successful specialty vegetable operation with decades of experience in commercial farming. The business grows a focused mix of fresh and organic crops, including iceberg lettuce, romaine, organic kale, organic beets, and organic carrots. With approximately $14M in annual revenue, the operation supplies several well-known, long-term customers and is recognized for consistent quality and reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train closely with the current General Manager for approximately one year, with the goal of transitioning into the GM role over time.
- Support day-to-day farm operations across production, labor, logistics, and financial oversight, ensuring continuity during a leadership transition.
- Help oversee vegetable production to maintain quality, yield, food safety, and customer specifications.
- Assist with management of large seasonal labor programs, including H2A planning and compliance.
- Work alongside long-tenured managers and team members, supporting leadership development and cultural continuity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in vegetable production, farm operations, or related agricultural roles.
- Hands-on vegetable crop experience required, preferably with crops similar to those grown by the operation.
- Solid agronomic foundation with familiarity in irrigation systems, including center pivot irrigation.
- Willingness to relocate and commit to a long-term leadership opportunity.
- Spanish language skills strongly preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce.
