Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and professional Sales Associate to join an award-winning team. This role offers the opportunity to work with quality new boats, serve customers, and be part of a respected family business that maintains the highest standards in the industry. The ideal candidate will share our passion for boating and commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience with a goal of achieving 100% customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Process Excellence

  • Execute the complete 5-step sales process: meet/greet, qualify, feature/benefit presentation, write-up, and delivery
  • Greet all walk-in customers and handle phone inquiries with immediate attention and professionalism, respond to internet leads within 2 hours of receipt
  • Identify buyer types (trade, price, payment, or price difference) to effectively work deals
  • Work all deals through sales management to ensure maximum profit and customer satisfaction
  • Understand of the used boat market for completing comprehensive valuations, and marketing

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build lasting relationships throughout the customer's boating journey
  • Maintain comprehensive prospect management system with thorough follow-up until purchase or market exit
  • Enter all prospects into lead management system daily with thank-you communications
  • Conduct post-delivery follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals
  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) goals as established by management

Product Knowledge & Operations

  • Become an avid boater with in-depth knowledge of the boating industry
  • Master new boat product lines, options and understand competitive landscape
  • Conduct safe boat demonstrations following Coast Guard guidelines
  • Complete delivery inspections, rigging verification, and registration processes

Team Collaboration

  • Maintain neat, organized workstation and professional appearance
  • Attend all sales meetings and training sessions
  • Promote teamwork across all dealership departments
  • Assist with showroom displays and promotional materials
  • Participate in boat shows and off-site events throughout the year

Required Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience, preferably in marine boat sales
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated approach
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and boat show events
  • Computer proficiency with CRM and lead management systems
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Previous boating experience and knowledge of Chesapeake Bay
