Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer – Pediatric (Contract)
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203
Duration: 13 Weeks (extendable)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Pay Rate: $65–$68/hour
Education Requirements:Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited Cardiac Diagnostic Sonography program (2-year program) .
Pediatric echocardiography experience required.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
Perform pediatric echocardiographic studies, including 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow imaging, to assess cardiac anatomy and function.
Prepare patients (infants, children, and adolescents) for echocardiographic procedures, explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
Acquire and evaluate high-quality diagnostic images following established protocols and physician requests.
Assist cardiologists in the evaluation of congenital and acquired pediatric cardiac conditions.
Document and analyze sonographic data; prepare accurate and timely preliminary reports for physician interpretation.
Maintain, calibrate, and ensure safe operation of ultrasound equipment.
Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists, nurses, and healthcare staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
Adhere to patient safety standards and infection control protocols during all procedures.
Provide patient and family education, reassurance, and compassionate care.
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure accuracy and consistency in imaging.
