The Certified Nursing Assistant assists nursing staff by coordinating unit activities, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting staff orientation. Candidates must have a Nursing Assistant Certification, BLS certification, and experience in acute or skilled nursing care or healthcare customer service.
Description
Responsible for performing general secretarial and clerical duties in the patient care areas. Interacts with patients, families and physicians and acts as a liaison among members of the health care team, patients and families. Assists the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit. Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. May be responsible for setting alarms and observing oxygen saturation readings. Oversees the orderliness of work areas and orders forms and other clerical supplies. Assists with orientation of new staff and performs other duties as assigned by charge nurse or nurse manager.
