Location: Middletown, RI

Duration: Full-Time ONSITE position (no contracts, no corp to corp, no remote)

DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary:  

The Data Engineer will collaborate with business owners, users, consultants and technicians to assist in the implementation of a comprehensive Corporate data strategy. It will be the primary responsibility of this role to execute on tasks along the roadmap and to ensure proposed solutions align to the corporate roadmap, principles, and policies. In addition, the Data Engineer will identify potential new areas for focus and create additional definition and clarity around existing areas that are not fully defined or understood. 

Required Competencies:  

·5+ to 7 years of experience

·Computer Fundamentals – Knowledge or exposure to data modeling/ design, ETL/ELT, Microsoft SQL Server, Boomi, Oracle, Cloud -Databases (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure).

·Data Management – Demonstrated success in dealing with enterprise data management, integration, and data solutions.

·Collaboration – Ability to operate effectively in a team and with limited direct guidance to execute on Embrace’s data strategy. 

Preferred Competencies:  

·Judgment & Decision Making – Utilize technology and additional resources to deliver intelligent solutions.

·Oral & Written Communication – Provide clear, verbal and written to provide clarity to business partners, users, consultant and other parties involved.

·Internal Customer Satisfaction – building strong intercompany relationships to deliver quality solutions.

 Responsibilities & Activities:

The role will be responsible for various functions including:

 Process Improvement (50%):

·Design, building, improving data movement processes between both on premise and off premise data stores. Primary toolsets will be SQL Server, SSIS, Snowflake, and Dell Boomi.

·Execute on corporate vision for data driven future.

·Foster positive business outcomes by executing on the data strategy and roadmap in a manner that ensures alignment across the organization.

 Daily Responsibilities (25%): 

·Complete tasks to ensure proposed solutions align to the corporate roadmap, principles, and policies.

·Navigate short-term business needs that evolve into long term business solutions and align to the overall data strategy and roadmap.

·Analyze cost/benefit of short term vs. long-term transition. 

Operational Support (25%):

·Perform daily checks of success.

·Report on process performance including the development of metrics to act as early indicators of issues.

·Improve on number of rollbacks, errors, average time to commit.
