Under the general direction of a Deputy Inspector General, Senior, the Deputy Inspector General will conduct reviews of closed California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) use-of-force investigations; assist in conducting vettings of CDCR warden candidates; and, as assigned, conduct special reviews of CDCR’s policies, practices, and procedures. The Deputy Inspector General will travel, as required, to CDCR prisons and facilities and to Office of the Inspector General (OIG) regional offices and headquarters in Sacramento, California. Travel may require occasional overnight stays.
