The Role: What You’ll Do

As a Drafting and 3D Printing Teacher at Veritas Prep High School, you’ll foster students’ creativity and technical skills through hands-on design and fabrication using CAD software and 3D printers. You’ll develop courses that engage students in both traditional drafting techniques and modern 3D printing technology, preparing them for future careers in design, engineering, or technology.

You’ll also:

• Design and implement an innovative curriculum focused on drafting, CAD, and 3D printing

• Teach students how to create and print their own designs, emphasizing the engineering design process

• Integrate technology and tools to support students' learning and exploration in design

• Assess student progress and provide actionable feedback to enhance their learning experience

• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to create interdisciplinary projects

• Participate in the continuous improvement of the program, utilizing student performance data to inform instructional practices

• Build strong relationships with students and help them develop confidence in their skills

• Engage students in discussions about real-world applications of drafting and 3D printing

• Support and promote a culturally responsive classroom environment that values diversity and inclusion

• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current in industry trends

Requirements

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

• A strong belief that all students can excel in technical and creative fields
• A passion for teaching and a commitment to continuous professional growth
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience in drafting, design, or engineering preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Design, Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in CAD software and experience with 3D printing technologies
• Have or be eligible for a MA teaching license in Technology/Engineering Education
• Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment

About Veritas Prep

Veritas Prep is a public, tuition-free school in Springfield that prepares students in grades 5-12 to compete, achieve, and succeed in college and beyond! Veritas Prep accelerates every student’s path to college and career by helping students set a strong academic foundation in middle school and guaranteeing access to college classes and college prep support in our wall-to-wall Early College high school. Students can earn up to an associate degree for free, and the General Studies associate degree from STCC guarantees students will be JUNIORS at any MA public college or university after high school graduation!
