Ft. Lauderdale-a growing law firm, has an immediate opening for a Federal Civil Litigation Paralegal

The ideal candidate must have strong communication and writing skills, and to clearly and effectively articulate position. Candidate must have the ability to multi-task with tolerance and success. Federal civil litigation experience is a must.

• Obtaining documents and evidence from clients
• Drafting complaints, summonses, civil cover sheets and all initial documents
• Ensuring that all deadlines set by the court are met
• Drafting discovery requests
• Drafting proposed answers for the opposing party's discovery requests
• Drafting motions
• Preparing proposed jury instructions and pretrial statements
• Drafting all initial disclosures
• Setting depositions
• Drafting qualified written requests to send to mortgage loan servicers
• Keeping clients informed of the progress of their case
• Sending complaints to the process servicer for service
• Filing all documents that need to be filed during the course of litigation

Qualifications

Education: High-school diploma or equivalent.

Paralegal Certificate a plus.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years as a federal civil litigation paralegal

Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills, thoroughness and attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Self-Starter and Goal oriented. Must demonstrate a sense of urgency. Must possess exceptional client service skills. Candidate must be technologically savvy, very comfortable using process management systems and fully and effectively utilize available technology and automation.

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm., which includes a one hour lunch.
