The Center for Health Education Medicine and Dentistry CHEMED is seeking a Maintenance and Operations Assistant to join our dynamic facilities team! Whether you're just out of school or looking to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment, this role is your opportunity to make a real impact while learning essential skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the go-to support for our Facilities Manager on daily operations
  • Tackle basic handyman tasks, hanging fixtures, minor repairs, assembly work, and more
  • Deliver supplies and equipment between multiple CHEMED locations
  • Assist with setting up ID badges and key cards for staff
  • Assemble office furniture, shelving, and equipment
  • Help unload and organize deliveries
  • Pitch in wherever needed, no two days are the same!

What We’re Looking For

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (trade/technical training is a bonus!)
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Basic knowledge of tools and general maintenance
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active on the job
  • A professional, punctual, and team-oriented mindset

Requirements

Qualifications for Maintenance Assistant

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
  • May be required to work outside of normal work hours
  • Supervise and manage the housekeeping team
  • Management experience a must
  • Must be very responsible and have Great communication and management skills as well as personable and a team player
