Job Description

1. ROLE

Project Manager 2.  PURPOSE

The Project Manager is responsible for realising a project (a range of activities for achieving a predefined result within set conditions). He or she is responsible for the planning, budgeting, organisation, follow up and completion of projects taking into account time, costs, quality and employability of employees/project members.

By engaging with the client, you identify their expectations and needs. You help to think about effective and efficient solutions for the client and translate these into a customised program.

The Project Manager ensures that the Project Team makes the best possible effort by providing the necessary adjustments and guidance.

4. DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB

The job of Project Manager is of both of an executive and an operational nature.

The Project Manager's responsibilities are 90% billable and 10% commercial being part of the Project Management Office.

Due to the executive nature of the position, the Project Manager is responsible for realising the project, ensuring that the predetermined planning, budget, procedures and output are respected.

The Project Manager is also responsible for the functional guidance and steering of System Engineers and Senior System Engineers within the project team.

The Project Manager decides on the planning and organisation of the project. He/she is responsible for realising project within scope, budget and set time frame. For this reason, the project manager coordinates the team members and processes.

6.  KEY RESULT AREAS

RESULT AREA 1: Project Management

Aim: Ensuring that projects are delivered within the predetermined scope, budget and timeframe, meeting the client's expectations and needs.

Sub-activities:

  • Set up project in line with PMO methodology and terminology
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation in cooperation with BU-manager or Resource Manager
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Follow-up and ensure that deliverables meets AG Solution quality standards


RESULT AREA 2: Drawing up documentation on the activities carried out within the framework of the project

Aim: Process improvement, continuous learning and knowledge sharing

Sub-activities:

  • Define and keep PMO terminology and methodology up-to-date methodology (Create artefacts, guidelines, procedures and templates)
  • Draw up documentation for the tasks carried out within the project in order to be

able to (re-)use this information in the future, both by themselves and by colleagues

RESULT AREA 3: Supervision of project members

Aim:

Sub-activities:

  • Supervise, guide, monitor and steer
    • Explain the tasks to be performed and the working method
    • Answer questions

RESULT AREA 4: Risk Management

Aim: Perform risk management to minimize project risks

Sub-activities:

  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Communicate to the team about potential risks
  • Inform the Project Sponsor and Sales department to define the actions to take if

forecast gives an overspending

  • Follow up status to communicate to Project Sponsor

8. PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma: At least a professional bachelor's degree in a technical subject and/or an affinity with software development
  • Knowledge: An affinity with: Software packages, Automation, Data management
  • Experience: + 3 years of experience as a project manager
  • Running-in period: Two months to get to know the way of working and processes of the organisation in order to be able to work on a project, six to nine months to be able to work independently (through on-the-job training)
  • Languages: The native language of the country in which the employee is based would be an asset, English, any other language is an asset


9.  SKILLS AND ATTITUDES

  • Project monitoring: Permanently follows up the process, checks the progress and results according to the envisaged project plan. Gives feedback to the project team. Makes adjustment of his/her own accord when deviations from the plan are detected.
  • Coaching project employees: In the context of a project quickly detects inferior work with respect to the specified expectations and objectives. Gives clear feedback to the employee in time and, if necessary, provides additional guidance.
  • Functional expertise: Has the expertise to cope with all situations within their job efficiently. Maintains their own expertise. Has an eye for new information and applies this information to their own job.
  • Dealing with stakeholders: Unifies the interests of different stakeholders in their approach to simple situations. Involves others in making decisions, if necessary.
  • Procedure and process oriented: Is constantly paying attention to improving procedures and optimising processes, both for their own position and for the team.
