JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Engineer

LOCATION: El Segundo, CA

PAY RATE: $40-50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

• Manage records for aircraft conformity, quality documentation, and certification reporting

• Develop and oversee inspection schedules for parts, kits, documentation, and test articles

• Collaborate with product development teams to integrate design-for-quality principles

• Create and maintain documentation: inspection criteria, test plans, FMEA, and risk assessments

• Participate in design reviews: PDR, CDR, prototype, DFM, DFA, V&V, and final design reviews

• Establish and maintain inspection criteria and plans to verify conformance

• Coordinate with DARs and DERs to support inspections and certifications

• Process non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board meetings

• Lead or assist with supplier qualification, auditing, and enhancing inspection criteria

• Support responses to FAA requests and audits

• Conduct internal and supplier audits to AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA standards; implement CAPA

• Monitor supplier quality performance and support supplier development programs

• Develop and track quality metrics, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement

• Provide training and guidance on quality standards, processes, and regulatory requirements

• Support ongoing improvement of the QMS in alignment with regulatory and customer expectations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering

• 5+ years in quality assurance, supplier quality, or conformity inspection in aerospace

• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulations

• 4+ years of experience working with regulatory agencies (FAA, ISO/AS9100 registrars, customers)

• Experience reviewing installation, assembly, and electrical drawings; participating in design reviews

• Experience with FAA-approved DMIR, DAR, or DER processes

• Experience conducting audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning

• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering

• Experience in aerospace startups or fast-paced environments

• ISO/AS9100 lead auditor

• Aerospace Quality Management or related experience

• Project or office management experience
