Monday through Friday , with varied weekends as needed
Note: Only one position is available for either an RN or LPN .
Position Overview:The Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities, staff education, and infection prevention initiatives. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, supports performance improvement efforts, and promotes best practices in clinical care and infection control.
Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance & ComplianceImplement and maintain policies and procedures related to quality assurance in accordance with regulatory guidelines, facility standards, and evidence-based practices.
Gather and analyze data through audits, interviews, and monitoring to ensure compliance across departments and disciplines.
Review CASPER (Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reporting) reports and develop QAPI-based Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as needed.
Prepare, distribute, and interpret reports and data summaries on Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
Develop periodic reports summarizing compliance progress toward established goals and performance measures.
Assist supervisors and managers in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
Monitor and report on corrective measures for deficiencies identified by state or federal survey agencies.
Ensure the facility meets all applicable state, federal, and Veterans Administration (VA) regulations.
Investigate incidents of non-compliance and assist in investigations related to abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of residents.
Coordinate facility preparation for state and federal surveys.
Lead and facilitate Quality Assurance and Infection Control Committee meetings.
Identify training needs and develop educational programs related to quality assurance, compliance, and infection prevention.
Evaluate the effectiveness of staff training programs and ensure ongoing education meets facility and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of staff education, training records, and compliance.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure staff competency and adherence to established care standards.
Track and trend infection data using McGeer and non-McGeer criteria .
Conduct daily infection control surveillance rounds to ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and individual resident care plans.
Stay current with infection control standards and participate in continuing education offered by organizations such as CMS and CDC .
Knowledge of:

Active RN or LPN license in the State of Arizona (required)
Infection Preventionist Certification (required)
DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
Valid Arizona Driver’s License (required; in-state travel may be necessary)
