Summary

Seeking self-motivated individual to work in a developmental glial biology lab of Dr. Hyun Kyoung Lee, Principal Investigator at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, US.

HK Lee laboratory will focus on identifying novel molecular signaling pathways and regulation in glial cell development. Based on these developmental studies, the lab will translate developmentally derived findings to associated disorders to develop therapeutic interventions. To achieve this goal, the lab will utilize molecular and cellular approaches in conjunction with classic genetic manipulation in mouse models and an array of CNS injury models, which will ultimately be applied to human neurological disorders. 

Job Duties

• Conducts mouse behavior assays and cell culture. 
• Peforms tissue analysis that includes harvesting, section, immunostatining.
• Works on data analyses that includes imaging and quantification.
• Conducts routine laboratory experiments (Genotype, DNA, RNA, Protein preps).
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Be highly motivated.
• Has expertise in working with mice.
• Has a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
• Has excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills. Works effectively in a team environment.
