Your Future as a SLPA Starts Here—And It’s Looking Bright At Children's Learning Connection, the Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is responsible for pediatric treatment in the area of Speech Therapy. The Speech Language Pathology Assistant will provide services while adhering to the code of ethics of the profession, and in accordance with all applicable state laws. Plan and problem-solve with the supervising SLP in order to help each client reach his or her potential Communicate and collaborate with other professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents in order to provide an effective program Provide services in an effective manner within your scope of practice Document all treatment sessions on a daily basis, as well as provide appropriate documentation to supervising SLP Maintain client files and treatment logs in an organized manner to include as well as provide appropriate documentation to supervising SLP Communicate with Supervising SLP and/or Directors regarding any changes in status, problems, or intent to change any aspect of services already in place. Attend and participate in meetings as required by the supervising SLP (e.g., Clinical staff meetings, team meetings, IEP/IFSP meetings). Develop instructional materials, and evaluate commercially produced materials for use in treatment as recommended by supervising SLP Keep current on the latest developments in the field of speech therapy by attending professional seminars, reading current literature, and participating in professional organizations. Attend yearly trainings. Keep a careful record of billable hours which will require a parent's signature and submit time sheets on time. Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements ~ Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred ~ State Licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) ~1-3 years of experience in Pediatrics Children’s Learning Connection is a division of Autism Learning Partners that provides pediatric interdisciplinary services throughout Orange County, CA with clinic locations in Huntington Beach, Orange, and Laguna Hills, CA.
