**Job Description:** The Nursing Internship is a skill-based, paid, position providing opportunities to gain valuable clinical skills while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Spend Summer 2026 at Essentia Health as a Student Nurse Intern in Deer River, Aurora, or Virginia! **Education Qualifications:** As a **Student Nurse Intern,** you will work under direct supervision, providing essential support in both routine and technical aspects of nursing care for patients of all ages. **Key Responsibilities:** + Assist with patient care activities while adhering to best practices and protocols. + Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations. + Help maintain a safe and healing environment for patients and families. **Units Available for Student Nurse Interns:** + Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Intermediate Care Unit + Float Team + Birthplace + Emergency Department (ED) + Medical/Surgical + Surgery + Family Medicine Clinic *Unit availability may vary depending on location **Internship Requirements:** + Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program + **Bachelor's Degree Students** : must have completed Junior year of nursing program prior to Summer 2026 + **Associate Degree Students:** must have completed two semesters of nursing clinical prior to Summer 2026 + Enrolled in a nursing co-operative internship course for the summer 2026 semester + Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month of hire + Must be able to commit to 32-40 hours/week (up to 400 hours for the entire summer).
