We are hiring a Medical Assistant (MA) / Admin to join our team of talented medical professionals, to assist with one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in Honolulu, HI.

• Employment Status: Full Time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
• Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm. (Male only required for job role)

Primary Purpose of Position

The Optum Serve Medical Assistant / Admin for the Dedicated network provides clinically competent delivery of quality medical care services required during Optum Serve operations within their scope of practice. The MA/Admin working at any Optum Serve site is responsible for safe patient care and ensuring adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures.

Role Responsibilities & Attributes

This role is patient-facing and can require working in a clinical setting. It is customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs.

Required Qualifications

• Male only required for this job role. "When a patient is seen by a Medical Assistant/Admin, the Honolulu, HI facility provides the patient with the option for either a male MA/Admin or female MA/Admin, according to what will make the patient most comfortable during a sensitive examination or procedure. The Honolulu, HI facility therefore must provide patients with access to both male and female Medical Assistant/Admin to facilitate patient choice. This posting is specifically for a Male Medical Assistant/Admin , which will allow the Honolulu, HI facility to fulfill its male Medical Assistant/Admin staffing needs.
• Associate degree in medical assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, and/ or maintains unrestricted and in good standing certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).

• IF required by state of operation: Maintains unrestricted and in good standing certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Phlebotomy Certification from accrediting training course, when required by state requirements.
• Active/Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
• Valid U.S. Driver�s License and ability/willingness to drive between work locations.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience (i.e., Primary Care, Family Care, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care).
• Willingness to complete CAOCH and Drug Testing Collection Certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Veterans, Service Members and Federal Employees.
• Previous experience performing EKG, PFTs, ABIs, venipuncture, lab processing, etc.
• Current certification in Audio and Drug Testing Collection.
