Position Overviewï¼
A global Japanese financial institution is seeking an experienced Private Real Estate Fund Investment Officer to join its investment team. This role focuses on evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments in private real estate funds across international markets. The ideal candidate will bring 5â15 years of relevant experience, strong analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of real estate fund structures and strategies.
Key Responsibilitiesï¼
âSource and evaluate private real estate fund opportunities globally
âConduct thorough due diligence, including financial, operational, and market analysis
âAssess fund performance, investment strategy, and risk profile
âPrepare investment proposals and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
âMonitor existing fund investments and maintain relationships with fund managers
âCollaborate with internal teams and overseas headquarters on portfolio strategy and reporting
âStay informed on global real estate market trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic conditions
Required Qualificationsï¼
â5â15 years of professional experience in private real estate fund investment, including fund selection, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring
âDemonstrated expertise in evaluating core, value-add, and opportunistic real estate strategies across various geographies
âDeep understanding of real estate asset classes (e.g., office, retail, industrial, multifamily, logistics) and fund structures (e.g., commingled funds, co-investments, separate accounts)
âProven ability to assess fund manager capabilities, track records, and alignment of interests
âStrong proficiency in financial modeling, including IRR, cash flow projections, and scenario analysis
âExperience preparing and presenting investment memos and recommendations to senior stakeholders or investment committees
âA bachelorâs degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field is required.
âMasterâs degree or CFA designation is strongly preferred
âExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English
âJapanese language proficiency is a plus but not required
âExperience working at a Japanese company and familiarity with Japanese business culture is a strong plus.
âMust be able to commute to the office location.
âCandidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
