As the sun rises over Goa, I too am rising up high in the sky. I’m taking an early morning flight in a hot air balloon which is one way to watch the sun rise on another glorious day in Goa, India. There is truly no better way to see the sights than to go ballooning in Goa.
Out of the corner of my eye my flashlight lit something up, my brain was immediately on high alert. Was that what I thought it was? As my eyes focused on it I quickly realised it was a human skull. I was deep underground in Lumiang Cave and would be staying underground for the next 2.5 hours
As I stood on the edge of the cliff looking down the 20 foot drop in front of me, my guide at my side told me where to stand. I stepped off the cliff top and plunged into the water, adrenaline seeped through my body as I hit the water. This was my experience in Tangadan Falls in the Philippines.
Many cars slowed down to take a look but few had the courage to stop. We were unsure if it was that they couldn’t speak English or if they were just not going that far. Some people did stop but decided not to give us a lift as they were not going to the exact place that we were going. We learnt a lot in the two days of hitchhiking 350 km down the east coast of South Korea. Therefore, I have decided to put together some tips for others planning on hitchhiking in South Korea.
The sound of the bitterly cold wind whistling through the rocks was music to my ears. Almost meditation inducing if it hadn’t been so cold. It’s winter time in Seoraksan National Park, South Korea and I’m hiking up to Ulsanbawi rock.
