Antwerp, is the second largest city in Belgium and has many proud sights to offer. But you’ve probably heard about this pocket-sized city from the movie “Snatch” or you just have good geographical knowledge. Nevertheless Antwerp is famous for a variety of things like the great painter Rubens, fashion and popular design schools, it’s harbour and last but not least a girl’s best friends, diamonds. Architecture is another aspect that makes this little metropolis so special. Most of the structures were built during the medieval times but you can also discover impressive Art Nouveau creations or even varied modern complexes.

Having been to Morocco 3 times over the past 18 months, it is pretty clear that I love Morocco. Coming from the UK, I can be in Africa, submersed into a whole different culture in just 4 hours. However, my love for Morocco is a little bit more than this. But one city has captured my attention – Marrakesh.

Morocco has it all – sea, city, culture, mountains and desert.

You have probably seen pictures of the swing at the end of the world.  That swing is in Baños, Ecuador. Did you know that Baños is named after the hot spring water baths? The full name of the city in spanish is Baños de Agua Santa or Holy Water Baths. In the last few of years this city got famous because of the Casa Del Arbol Swing. Baños can be considered the entrance to the Amazon. You will notice this by the lush landscape.

 

The swing can look terrifying and you might think it would be a big risk to take it, right? Don’t worry, you won’t fall of the earth!

Running Away: Is Travel a Form of Escape?

What are you running away from?

This is the question I am regularly asked when I talk about my travels. My reply has always been nothing, I just enjoy travelling. I love my home but I just want to see more of the world.

But on a more recent trip, it occurred to me that maybe they are right. Maybe I am running away and perhaps I need to be more honest about this.
