There have been a lot of reports in the media about Ryanair splitting up passengers who do not pay for an upgrade. This is my recent experience.
I have flown Ryanair many times, and although I am ranting away about them, I will most likely fly with them again. Why? Because they are a budget airline and I am a budget traveller. I like cheap flights to great places. I love a great deal, and if you know how to handle them properly, Ryanair will give you just that . . .cheap flights.

The historic city of Angers is in western France. Situated in the Loire Valley it is a popular place to use as a base to explore the surrounding areas. But visiting a city can really tug on your purse strings which is why I have tried and tested these 10 free things to do in Angers, France. It’s just a train ride away from Paris and London; it is well worth visiting even if just to see its Gothic Angevin architecture style. Angers was the fourth city I visited on my grand tour of Europe where I lived and slept in my car.

On the 26th November 2016, I boarded a flight at Manchester Airport. On the 27th November, I landed in Seoul, South Korea. Today marks one year of travel and what a year of travel it has been! One year on and I am at home again. Not to stay but on a visit and to drop off my Camping Car after a summer in Europe before heading once again on a long haul flight.
I was asked by my sister-in-law if I ever got homesick. Well what you are going to read about my year of travel will make you understand why I don’t. With people all over the world welcoming me into their lives and making their house my home. How can I?

Eating out alone is something I would never do at home. However, life as a solo traveller means that I have had to get used to it. Unless I forever wanted to find a friend, eat at my accommodation or make a packed lunch, I have had to toughen up. Now it is second nature when travelling but would I be as confident doing it at home? No!

You know when you have that feeling that something isn’t quite right. It wasn’t anything that the man had done apart from the fact there was an empty platform and he was standing rather close. I even made eye contact with him and gripped my phone tighter. Perhaps I knew he was going to rob me. And the inevitable happened – I was robbed in Berlin!
I was in Berlin and I was arranging to meet my friend I had made on Couchsurfing. I was catching up with a few emails and making use of the station’s free Wifi. After a while, my gripped relaxed a little. Perhaps, I had misjudged him, then ‘bam!’, my phone had been snatched and off the thief went.
